Yesterday, on Mother’s Day, I completed my 55th triathlon, the Jay Benson Race, here in Albuquerque. There were over 600 participants, the biggest race I’ve been in so far, and lots of the athletes were women, from the youngest girl in the race–age 13– to a 71 year old woman, who was awesome! Many were mom’s out there competing with their families cheering them on.
I’ve just signed up for two more races, the City of Santa Fe Tri on July 21st and, as you can see here, the Socorro Chile Tri on August 4th. I just love doing these, and, yesterday I placed 2nd in my age group. There was one woman there just a bit faster! I’ll just have to train to shave off a few minutes. I’m aiming to win the gold medal for my category this year! I will keep you posted–literally!!
